Rising Memphis rapper Duke Deuce has been earning buzz as of late thanks to his recent track “Crunk Ain’t Dead.” Accompanied by a viral video that starts with him being revived by his friends, the song has taken off and even been used for memes. Now, the track has been given a remix featuring two Memphis legends, Project Pat and Juicy J, alongside Lil Jon, further cementing Deuce as one to look out for in 2020.
Turning up the intensity, the remix is about as fun as one might expect given the lineup. “It was legendary working beside guys I listened to as a kid growing up in Memphis in the studio with my dad,” Deuce told Complex of the remix. Jon assists on the chorus of the track, while Juicy J and Pat both provide a distinctively Memphis verse. The song is taken from Duke Deuce’s upcoming mixtape, Memphis Massacre 2, which is scheduled to drop Feb. 19. Listen to it below.
“Crunk Ain’t Dead” isn’t the only song of his that’s gaining traction, as the Quality Control-signed rapper picked up steam last summer with “Yeh.” The meme potential of his hypnotic tracks and memorable videos are sure to land him more recognition.
