From Post Malone to Katy Perry, Nike, and Alexander Wang, Berlin’s SUCUK UND BRATWURST have been behind some of the coldest merch and campaigns the industry has to offer. As their portfolio continues to grow we took a closer look at some of their best projects to date.
Chances are you’ve been exposed to SUCUK UND BRATWURST’s work over the years, with a portfolio that extends across fashion and music their playful graphics are hard to miss. Bound by a long-standing friendship, the studio’s strengths lay in their recognition of the value of collaboration. Playing off one another’s strengths to reach their collective goals; SUB has continued to push their own creative boundaries time and time again, in turn engaging audiences with some of the most exciting editorial, merch, and campaigns. Inspired by a background in graffiti, the team works across a range of mediums, maintaining the connection between physical and digital methods to build their creative playground.
While their roots remain deeply set in Berlin, SUCUK UND BRATWURST projects have put them centre stage toward an international audience. Back in 2018, the team set the pace as they delivered the official merchandise for Post Malone’s Beerbongs & Bentleys, revitalising the album artworks’ barbed wire in an anthropomorphic manner. The project demonstrated their innate ability to deliver a breath of fresh air to existing projects, much like their work with Willo Perron for Katy Perry & Zedd’s 366 cover art and music video. One thing that is apparent throughout these projects is that their spirit of collaboration has afforded audiences some of the most top tier artistic interpretations of music in recent years.
Where the studio shines brightest, however, is in their contributions to fashion. Their creative flair was given a huge opportunity to shine alongside the iconic work of Hajime Sorayama for DIOR’s Pre-Fall 2019 Collection from Kim Jones, giving one of the most exciting fashion collection’s of the season, one of the most impactful visual treatments. Interpretations of high fashion brand’s through the visual medium has become somewhat of a mainstay for the studio; with work for Alexander Wang, Rimowa, and most recently Moncler positioning the team as one of the leading collaborators on the global fashion scene. Reworking global icons is no easy feat, but one that SUCUK UND BRATWURST has achieved countless times, demonstrated by the varied works with the Swoosh for the likes of the Nike Air Max 720 on Dazed Digital, and OBJ x Nike.
