While the entire NFL is holding its breath to see where Tom Brady will end up next, the six-time Super Bowl champion is adding to his off-field portfolio.
Brady has quietly put together his 199 Productions company. The name of the company is an allusion to the number he was selected during the 2000 NFL draft. Deadline describes 199 Productions as a “global multi-platform content company” that will develop original content including documentaries, feature films, and television shows. Not only will he be behind the creation of this content, but Brady will also appear on-camera for several of these projects.
199 Productions will focus on stories that focus on a variety of topics like sports, entertainment, and health and wellness, and more. To help introduce his vision to the world, Brady has tapped Avengers: Endgame directors, Joe and Anthony Russo. Through a partnership with the Russos’ non-fiction group, AGBO Films, 199 has produced Unseen Football. This film is a “love letter” to the sport Brady has dominated. Brady will guide viewers through the realms of football at the high school, college, and NFL levels.
“Tom is one of the most successful, iconic, and inspiring sports figures in history. We want to bring his story, and the story of the game he loves, to the big screen in a way that gives audiences an experience of football that they’ve never had before,” the Russos said to Deadline. “As passionate fans of Tom, and the game, we’re thrilled to partner with and him and his amazing team on this special project.”
“I’m excited to be working with Joe and Anthony Russo and their team at AGBO Films, whose creative vision and unrivaled storytelling has revolutionized the industry,” Brady said. “I’m humbled to have the opportunity to partner with them to bring Unseen Football to the big screen and tell this story in a way that has never been done before. I believe in the essence of teamwork, and I have no doubt, our team will create the most magical experience for people to enjoy.”
199 Productions adds to Brady’s off-field ventures. Brady plans on expanding his lifestyle performance brand, TB12, to include physical locations in New York, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, and Toronto. This will go along with the locations he has in Boston and Foxborough.
