Here Are the NFL Free Agency Signings

While the future of the upcoming NFL season is somewhat uncertain as concerns over the COVID-19 coronavirus worsen, free agency has still kicked into gear. It’s a turbulent time for sports, but it’s expected the ’20-21 season will be unaffected come September. The 2020 NFL Draft will proceed as planned next month, but public draft events have been canceled.
None of this has stopped teams from acquiring some of the most wanted players in the league. Here are all of the 2020 NFL free agency signings so far.
Austin Hooper signs with Browns and becomes the highest-paid tight end in the NFL
After a number of years with the Atlanta Falcons, Austin Hooper has signed with the Cleveland Browns. While it hasn’t been revealed how much he signed for, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport indicated that it will be somewhere between $10 million to $11 million per season.
Dolphins sign special teams standout Clayton Fejedelem
Not the sexiest signing out there, but somebody’s got to fill special teams roles. Fejedelem, who signed a three-year deal with Miami, had spent his entire four year career with Cincinnati up until this point.
Broncos sign OL Graham Glasgow
Glasgow, formerly of the Lions, signed a four-year deal worth $44 million to move west to Denver.
Case Keenum to backup Baker Mayfield in Cleveland
Case Keenum has signed a three-year deal to go to Cleveland. It seems wise to assume he won’t be taking Baker Mayfield’s spot on the depth chart, but depth is important in any sport, especially the NFL. The 32-year-old Keenum went 1-7 as a starter on a bad Redskins team last year, but in 2017 he led the Vikings to the NFC Championship.
Lions add pass protection with OT Halapoulivaati Vaitai
Vaitai signed a five-year deal worth *double checks* $50 million. He has started 20 games with the Eagles since his career began in 2016.
Browns sign OT Jack Conklin to 3-year pact
Conklin, who went eighth overall in 2016, signed a three-year deal with a lot of guaranteed money to go to Cleveland. Even if he stays with the Browns for all three of those years he’ll still be just 28-years-old.
Raiders reach agreement with LB Nick Kwiatkowski
While not considered a star, Bears fans will speak to Kwiatkowski’s high level of competence. Going to Vegas (or wherever the Raiders end up) should afford him more consistent playing time to shine.
Dolphins add edge rusher Shaq Lawson
Lawson has spent all four years of his NFL career in Buffalo. This past season he recorded 6.5 sacks, which stands as a career-high.
Ravens add defensive lineman Michael Brockers
Veteran defensive end Michael Brockers was signed to a three-year/$30 million deal with Baltimore. He had spent every year from 2012-19 with the Rams.
Dolphins land big fish in CB Byron Jones
Dolphins aren’t fish, yeah we know. But the Dolphins got a big-time free agent in the person of d-back Byron Jones. Jones was taken in the first-round by Dallas in 2015, and was an All-Pro in 2018. According to reporter Ian Rapoport the new contract signed by Jones will make him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL:
Giants to sign CB James Bradberry
Speaking of corners, the Giants are set to poach James Bradberry from Carolina. While he’s not getting Byron Jones money, he’ll still be doing all right thanks to a reported three-year/$45 million deal that will come with $32 million guaranteed.
Bears sign TE Jimmy Graham
While not as newsworthy as it would’ve been five years ago, the Bears will sign tight end Jimmy Graham. He spent the past two seasons suiting up for their rival, the Packers.
Stefon Diggs is headed to the Buffalo Bills
Stefon Diggs of the Minnesota Vikings was traded to the Buffalo Bills.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen responded to the news on social media.
Randall Cobb is signing with the Texans
Randall Cobb is signing a $27 million, three-year deal with the Houston Texans.

When it comes to the biggest name switching teams, well, you’re not going to top Tom Brady leaving New England after two decades to play for the Bucs.
Thomas Davis to join Washington
Eventually the 37-year-old will announce his retirement. But, uh, not yet.
Philip Rivers signs one-year deal with Colts
In addition to Brady, another future Hall of Famer is heading to a new team after spending his entire career with the same squad. If he had ever won a Super Bowl in San Diego/Los Angeles, this would probably get more mainstream coverage:

Robert Quinn signs five-year deal with Chicago
The Bears…or is it Da Bears? No. Okay, the Bears will do. They signed pass rusher Robert Quinn to a five-year deal worth almost as much as anything you’re going to find on here.
Blake Martinez is going to the Giants
For three years/$30 million, Martinez will head up the middle of NY’s defense. Over the past three years he has 443 tackles. That’s a lot.
Marcus Mariota heading to the Raiders
Quarterbacks, especially ex-Heisman winners drafted second overall, switching teams is newsworthy. Cue the report that Mariota is going to the Raiders.
Jamie Collins to Detroit
The (now twice) ex-Patriots linebacker is going to Detroit. Must be something his former DC likes about him:
Jets sign O-lineman Connor McGovern
For three years and $27 million the Jets are bolstering their interior line.
Steelers add a(nother) Watt
Not J.J. but instead fullback Derek. In Pittsburgh he’ll be reuniting with his bro T.J. Derek’s rate is set to be $9.75m over three years.
Dolphins land Jordan Howard
Running backs don’t get the buzz they used to (like, at all). But Howard had a couple 1,000+ yard seasons to start his career, and that wasn’t even that long ago.
Raiders sign former Pro Bowl LB Cory Littleton
The 26-year-old made the 2018 Pro Bowl with the Rams and then backed it up with another fine season. Over the past two years he’s recorded 259 tackles to go with five picks.
Cardinals gets pass rushing DT Jordan Phillips
There’s a reason the Bills’ 2019 defense was so good, and that’s because it was made up of good players (makes sense). One of those guys was DT Jordan Phillips, who was second among all defensive tackles in 2019 with 9.5 sacks. He’s moving to a much warmer climate in Phoenix, and for that he’ll get $30 million over three years.
Kendall Fuller heads back to Washington
Two years after they dealt him as part of a package for QB Alex Smith, the Redskins have re-acquired cornerback Kendall Fuller. The 25-year-old will get a four-year deal, though we’re thus far uncertain of how many dollars.
