As the world struggles to adapt to life in self-isolation, Gal Gadot recruited some of her most famous friends for a musical moment. The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has made it so most of us aren’t going anywhere right now, and Gadot shared a video presumably in an attempt to lessen people’s anxiety in this trying time. While the intent might be to entertain during a particuarly difficult moment in modern history, it has already attracted a mixed response online.
Singing John Lennon’s 1971 single “Imagine,” Gadot got help from the likes of Sia, Will Ferrell, Sarah Silverman, Mark Ruffalo, Natalie Portman, Jimmy Fallon, James Marsden, Zoë Kravitz, and Norah Jones among others.
“These past few days got me feeling a bit philosophical,” the Wonder Woman star said in the clip. “You know this virus has affected the entire world, everyone. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from. We’re all in this together.”
On Twitter, the reaction has ranged from positive to outright apocalyptic. Some see the video of these celebrities singing from the comfort of their expensive homes as a harbinger of impending cataclysm, while others appreciate the positivity.
“We are in this together, we will get through it together. Let’s imagine together. Sing with us,” Gadot ended the video. “All love to you, from me and my dear friends.”
