Lil Uzi Vert’s ‘Eternal Atake’ Tops Billboard 200 Chart for Second Straight Week

Written by on March 22, 2020

A number of popular artists are celebrating a big week on the chart, including Lil Uzi Vert and Don Toliver.

According to Billboard, Uzi’s deluxe album Eternal Atake/LUV vs. The World 2 has landed at No. 1 with 247,000 equivalent album units. That’s a 14 percent decrease from its debut week, where it opened with 288,000 units.

He dropped Eternal Atake on March 6, which debuted at No. 1, with the deluxe edition dropping a week later. The second album boasted a number of features from heavy hitters like Young Thug, Lil Durk, Chief Keef, and more. While it isn’t considered a new entry, its ranking as No. 1 album for the second week in a row was seemingly assisted by the 14 new songs.

However, Eternal Atake would have endured at No. 1 for a second week without the deluxe version. That’s because there’s a significant leap between Eternal Atake/LUV vs. The World 2 and Lil Baby’s My Turn, which came in at No. 2 with 77,000 units.

Days after it dropped, all 18 songs from the deluxe album arrived on the Billboard Hot 100, with “Baby Pluto” (No. 6), “Lo Mein” (No. 8), and “Silly Watch” (No. 9) debuting in the top 10. This is a feat that’s only been achieved by Drake, J. Cole, and Lil Wayne.

Toliver’s debut album, Heaven or Hell has opened at the No. 7 spot with 44,000 equivalent album units, 3,000 of them coming from album sales. The project was released through Cactus Jack/Atlantic Records and becomes the fourth top 10 album for Cactus Jack. Prior to this, the self-titled JACKBOYS project hit No. 1 in early 2020, Travis Scott’s ASTROWORLD landed at No. 1 in 2018, and Huncho Jack’s Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho came in at No. 3 in 2018.

Jay Electronica’s album A Written Testimony—which featured sizable contributions from JAY-Z—was reportedly projected to pull in 25,000-28,000, with 7,000-10,000 coming from pure album sales. HitsDailyDouble reported it would land in the top 20 at No. 16, but Billboard didn’t share its final tally on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
