Rap fans knew they were in for a treat when Hit-Boy and Boi-1da squared off Friday night for the “The Beat Battle You Don’t Want To Miss.” But they didn’t expect to hear unreleased music from Drake and Roddy Ricch, Nas, and a track from Big Sean and the late Nipsey Hussle.
Boi-1da played an unreleased Drake and Roddy Ricch snippet, which set the internet ablaze. “I rock diamonds when I’m under pressure,” the Toronto rapper can be heard saying over the beat.
“Stop playing with me bro,” Boi-1da said while playing the track. “I’m not playing with you, bro.”
He wasn’t done with the unreleased gems, however. 1da previewed another Drake track, just for good measure.
Hit-Boy was no slouch during the battle either, previewing an unreleased Big Sean and Nipsey Hussle track from his forthcoming project ‘Detroit 2.’
“Shoutout Nipsey Hussle, n*gga, rest in peace,” the producer said before sharing the snippet. “Fuck rap, I’m a street legend,” the rapper can be heard saying over the beat. Big Sean even made an appearance during the battle to rap the new track alongside Hit-Boy.
Hit-Boy also previewed unreleased Nas and Benny the Butcher during the battle.
