During his Instagram Live battle with T-Pain last weekend, Lil Jon gave fans another taste of his joint track with Usher and Ludacris.
Jon explained he and the two artists created the record two years ago, but it remained in the vault because Usher had some hesitation.
“Y’all don’t know how many conversations I’ve had about this record,” Jon said during the stream.
Fans immediately went crazy for the track and demanded its official release. The positive response was apparently so strong that Usher took to Twitter to tease a possible drop.
Usher came through.
On Thursday night, the R&B singer shared “SexBeat” featuring Jon and Luda. The record follows the trio’s 2004 collaborative hits “Lovers and Friends” and “Yeah!”
Usher spoke about the new track and collaborating with Luda and Jon during a recent interview with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe.
“This was the beginning, or actually the continuation of the process of introducing music for my project. It may turn into something more. You got to stay tuned,” he said. “But I will tell you this. It’s undeniable. That’s the one thing you can say about it. When Usher, Jon, and Luda come together it’s always amazing. It allows us to stay connected to our core like us three together. No matter what Jon is doing, no matter where Ludacris is, no matter who I am, or where I’m going, or what type of music I’m introducing, when we come together, we go back to the center, like the orbit of who we all are as artists at our best.Usher, Jon, and Luda had to do it again. You know? It’s time.”
You can stream “Sex Beats,” written by Jermaine Dupri, now on all major platforms or listen to it via YouTube above.
Usher, Jon, and Luda have been tapped to perform at the inaugural Lovers and Friends festival later this year. The event was initially scheduled to go down next month, but was pushed back over COVID-19 concerns.
