Shoreline Mafia‘s Fenix Flexin pays tribute to the life and legacy of Mac P Dawg—his good friend and collaborator who was killed earlier this month.
“R.I.P. Mac P Dawg” finds Fenix reflecting on his favorite memories with the rapper from the time they were school children to their come-up in the industry. He also opens up about his struggle to cope with Mac’s untimely death and feeling the need to seek revenge.
“For my n***a, we gon’ get them n***as back/I love you, baby boy … I wish I could book the studio and call you …” Fenix raps. “We made history, n***as beat the odds/Got me prayin’ everyday, I’m reachin’ out to god … I wish I could go and turn around the hands of time.”

Mac, birth name Joshua Andrade Galvez, was fatally shot on April 6 in Koreatown of Los Angeles. The 24-year-old rapper was accompanied by a 20-year-old female, who suffered non-fatal injuries during the attack.
“The suspect approached on foot, fired multiple rounds, striking both victims,” LAPD public information officer Norma Eisenman told TheWrap. “The suspect fled in a vehicle in an unknown direction.”
Authorities have yet to make an arrest.
