Bail Reform, Criminal Justice Reform, and Kim Kardashian
Written by SOURCE on October 14, 2018
Kim Kardashian-West made headlines this year when she met with Donald Trump to (successfully) attempt to get clemency for Alice Marie Johnson, a nonviolent drug offender who was at the time serving a life sentence. She followed that up with another White House trip to discuss fairer sentencing laws.
But you don’t have to be a Kardashian to do something about the serious problems in our criminal justice system. Efforts to reform the bail system, how people are sentenced, and conditions in prisons and jails are already underway, and they could all use your help. Carri Twigg breaks it down in the video above.
