Sean Wotherspoon Teases Guess Sneaker Collaboration

Round Two co-owner Sean Wotherspoon has carved out a name for himself in the sneaker community thanks in large part to his work with Nike—specifically his Air Max 1/97, a ComplexCon 2018 Sneaker of the Year contender—but it looks like the vintage purveyor has something new up his sleeve.
Wotherspoon took to Instagram moments ago to show off the early stages of a new footwear collaboration with Guess. After working with the brand extensively in recent years on apparel, the designer has confirmed he’s currently putting together a sneaker. According to the posts, his plan is to re-imagine Guess designs from the ’80s—although it’s not clear if the shoes pictured are an archive model or his latest handiwork. The model itself uses a mix of red suede with black leather and mesh with ample portions of 3M.
This latest teaser comes during a period of uncertainty surrounding Wotherspoon’s future with Nike. In recent weeks, he’s been wearing shoes from competing brands like Adidas (seen below), a move that has caused some to speculate that he could be—or already has—severing ties with the Swoosh.
