Stephen A. Smith Is Getting Roasted After Getting Everything Wrong In His Chargers-Chiefs Preview

It would be easier to count the things Stephen A. Smith got right than to enumerate the many, many wrongs in his recent Chargers vs. Chiefs breakdown. The polarizing pundit is getting summarily roasted by Twitter after confounding his co-hosts with a moment that he called a “brain-lock.”
Here’s just a few of the things Smith whiffed on in the segment:
- The Chargers’ home city
- Picking a key matchup that consisted of players who have not played for either team this season
- Remembering that Derrick Johnson no longer plays in the NFL
Smith admitted he was wrong on Twitter, explaining that he let his mouth get ahead of his brain.
“My Brother, it’s called a MISTAKE because I was think of Virgil Green, but mentioned Hunter because I was multi-tasking,” he wrote. “That’s what happens when you’re doing a thousand things. But I don’t blame you if you told me to ‘Stay Off The Weeeeeeedddddddd.!’ That was a brain-lock moment.”
Smith tried to get ahead of the backlash with a joke tweet of his own, but the damage was already done.
Unfortunately, you don’t mess up that severely and get off with a “my bad.” Check out some of Twitter’s best burns below.
