Ski Mask the Slump God on Squashing Beef With Vic Mensa: ‘It Was Going in a Dangerous Route’

Ski Mask the Slump God and Vic Mensa have reportedly called a truce.
“A lot of s**t was going on in the backend, with me and Vic Mensa. It could’ve got to more dangerous s**t. We stopped it,” Ski Mask recently told TMZ. “Our people talked, and basically we just deaded it from where it was going, because it was going in a dangerous route. There’s enough black violence. There’s enough gun violence.”
So now that they have seemingly squashed their beef, is there any chance that the rappers will unite in the studio?
“Peace is enough,” Ski Mask said. “I don’t think I’ll collab with him.”

Earlier this year, Ski Mask told Mensa to stay in hiding until he apologized for dissing XXXTentacion in a BET Hip-Hop Awards cypher. Mensa took aim at X’s domestic abuse charges with the lines: “Only time you bear arms is in a wife beater, loser/Your favorite rapper’s a domestic abuser.”
“We want all the smoke. That’s our message,” the Florida-bred rapper said. “Say sorry, we’ll leave you alone. But until then, you better keep hiding, I ain’t gonna lie.”
Mensa said he eventually apologized to X’s mother, who had attended this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards ceremony. The Chicago rapper insisted he was unaware that X’s mom would be in the audience; however, he refused to retract his statements about the late MC.
“At the end of the day, I do think that the conversation that I was trying to bring up and that I did bring up is a super necessary conversation,” Mensa said on The Breakfast Club. “Maybe the way of going about it was not the best for the time, but I think the conversation is one that had to be had—talking about violence against women and misogyny in hip-hop, but particularly violence against women. I had a lot of people on the low reach out to me and thank me for that.”
