Will the Los Angeles Lakers get another superstar added to their roster? LeBron James hopes so.
James recently sat down with ESPN‘s Rachel Nichols for an interview and the two talked about a range of topics. When asked about the possibility of adding another star player to the Lakers, James responds by saying: “That would be ideal.” When asked if he would be doing any recruiting, James said he’s “always recruited.” He continued, “I’ve been trying to get guys to come play with me since, like, 2007. I’ve got rejected a lot. But I’ve also have not got rejected a lot. A lot of people didn’t want to come to Cleveland, let me just throw that out there… I tried to recruit so many guys to come to Cleveland and we actually had… a couple guys and it just didn’t work out […] It wasn’t hard getting guys in Miami, I’ll tell you that. So now that I think being in L.A., I don’t think it would be that hard to get guys here. But, we gotta win.”

James also spoke about Kevin Durant‘s recent comments in which the Warriors player said that the environment around James is toxic. “He has so many fanboys in the media,” Durant said of James. “Even the beat writers just fawn over him. I’m like, we’re playing basketball here, and it’s not even about basketball at certain points. So I get why anyone wouldn’t want to be in that environment because it’s toxic. Especially when the attention is bullshit attention, fluff. It’s not LeBron’s fault at all; it’s just the fact you have so many groupies in the media that love to hang on every word. Just get out of the way and let us play basketball.”
“I was a little pissed off when I first heard it, to be honest,” James said about KD’s comments. “I didn’t know where it stemmed from. I was pissed, my family was passed, my friends was pissed […] Got a phone call from KD. We talked about it. He mentioned how he felt and how he felt the story took a twist and as a man I… don’t hold on to things too long. I’m too happy in my life right now.”
