A Boogie Wit da Hoodie caps of the month with his new single “King of My City.”
The 24-year-old Highbridge rapper previewed the track via Instagram on Wednesday, sharing a video of him turning up on the streets among a group of Joker lookalikes.
“If you gotta pay the bills, fuck it/Westside n***a from the Bronx,” he raps in the first verse. “Yeah throw it up like LeBron, yeah/Hoodie round with a hunnid and five/All my guys pimp shit/You might get the bussin.”
The single comes as fans continue to hold their collective breath for A Boogie’s Artist 2.0 project. The rapper has been teasing the effort for about a year, and told fans he might take a break from music following its release: “This might be my last project for a while,” he wrote on Instagram back in November. “I want to take a break from music after Artist 2.0 tour is over. There’s a lot of things I wanna do in life and it’s moving too fast for me to focus on everything at once.”
And now that he’s reportedly expecting his second child with Ella Rodriguez, a hiatus seems very likely.
There’s still no word on when Artist 2.0 will arrive.
