Rappers are very protective of their musical style and approach. Often times when artists think their lane is being encroached, they end up dissing the trespassing artists. Although he didn’t call anyone out by name, A Boogie wit da Hoodie did just that.
“Keep on tryna sound like me without showing love and ima start to sue ya mf’s,” A Boogie wrote on Twitter. “Fr tho this shit is getting outta hand I’m not tryna knock nobody hustle I’m just getting sick of the craft ya bringing to the table Making this shit boring.”
It’s unlikely that A Boogie will take any artists to a court of law for mirroring his style. Yet, one can imagine that this is frustrating for an artist to hear their sound being saturated especially when they’re preparing to drop a new album.
A Boogie’s next album, Artist 2.0, is on the way. Although he hasn’t announced a release date, the artist continues to tease its drop on social media. Earlier this week, A Boogie apologized for the album’s delay by sharing the official cover art with his fans.
