The house prominently featured in the 1984 horror classic, A Nightmare on Elm Street, has been put up for sale, with an asking price of $3.25 million, the Los Angeles Times has learned.

Located at the fictional address of 1428 Elm Street in Springfield, Ohio, the home can actually be found in the Spaulding Square neighborhood in Los Angeles. Even though the film came out nearly four decades ago, the home’s identifiable façade remains largely unchanged. The green shingles are still there, but the bright red door has been changed to black.

“The whole neighborhood gets the tour bus treatment. People always get tickled when they see it,” Heather T. Roy of the real estate company Douglas Elliman said. “The façade is iconic, but the ties to the movie stop as soon as you walk through the front door. Inside, it’s a beautiful traditional-style space with a modern twist.”

The iconic home was bought in 2013 for $2.1 million by Lorene Scafaria, writer and director of the 2019 film Hustlers

The listing unabashedly references the home’s ties to Nightmare on Elm Street with Freddy Krueger occasionally appearing in photos showcasing various parts of the residence. Click here to check them all out.

Anyone interested in making an offer will need to do so by midnight on the fitting deadline of Halloween.
