Grammy-winner Adele and Simon Konecki have split, the Associated Press reports.
“Adele and her partner have separated,” Adele’s representatives Benny Tarantini and Carl Fysh said on Friday in a statement to AP. “They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.”
The couple have a child together, Angelo, who was born in 2012 and is six years old. E! News reports that the couple began dating towards the end of 2011. Konecki works as a charity entrepreneur and is the co-founder of Life Water.
Adele released her last album, 25, back in November of 2015. The massively successful album sold 2.3 million copies in just three days and debuted in the No. 1 spot in 32 countries. 25 went on to sell 3.38 million copies in its debut week and sold a total of 17.4 million copies in 2015.
During her Grammys acceptance speech in 2017, Adele, who’s usually been publicly private about her relationship, mentioned both her husband and kid. “The academy, I love you,” the singer said at the time. “My manager, my husband, and my son. You’re the only reason I do it. Thank you so much. Thank you very much to everybody.”
