Adrien Broner Sued Over Unpaid Jewelry

TMZ has learned that Pristine Jewelers NY has filed a lawsuit against Adrien Broner, alleging that the boxer owes them a substantial amount of money for jewelry purchased over a year ago. The suit claims that the jeweler approached Broner about an unpaid balance of $1.252 million, and he promised to repay them, but when his checks bounced, and both parties couldn’t work out a payment plan, they decided to turn this into a legal matter.
In their pursuit of repayment, Pristine Jewelers NY were allegedly told by Broner that they would get their money back after his bout against Jessie Vargas in April. He has allegedly only gave them back $100,000. According to ESPN, Broner’s purse for the aforementioned fight was $1 million.
Broner also turned down a three-fight offer from Matchroom Boxing earlier this year which would’ve netted him nearly $7 million guaranteed.
Pristine Jewelry NY is seeking $1.152 million to cover the cost of Broner’s remaining balance, as well as an additional $1 million for punitive damages.
