Alleged 15th Child of DMX Is Now Battling Over Late Rapper’s Estate

The battle over DMX’s estate continues, as another woman has come forward claiming to be the child of the late rapper.
Page Six reports Georgia resident Raven Barmer-Simmons is the latest person to stake their claim to X’s estate, bringing the total to 15 alleged children. According to court papers filed in May, the estate is worth less than $1 million, with some bearish projections estimating the value is closer to $50,000.
Fans of DMX are likely surprised by those numbers, and for good reason. X is the only rapper in history to have his first five albums reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200, three of which were earned multiple platinum certifications: 1998’s It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot (four times), 1998’s Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood (three times), 1999’s … And Then There Was X (five times).
The news arrives less than 24 hours after three of DMX’s sons from his 16-year marriage to Tashera Simmons were declared temporary administrators of the estate. Herbert Nass, the trusts and and estates attorney for Xavier, Tacoma and Sean Simmons, told Page Six that the next step is for all of X’s alleged offspring to take a paternity test.
“The next big thing is to determine who are the rightful heirs. The estate is going to ask everyone to prove paternity through DNA testing. All the legal children of DMX will be entitled to an equal share of his estate,” he said.
Nass continued, “We need to collect assets and pay debts and administration costs. We don’t have a lot of information about his income streams, but now the temporary administrators have been appointed, we can ask questions and expect answers.”
