Amazon is making some changes to their original series line-up. During the Television Critics Association press tour, Amazon’s studio head Jennifer Salke announced that they will not bring back The Romanoffs for another season.
The Romanoffs was an anthology series that followed eight different families who believed they were related to Russian royalty. The show was Matthew Weiner’s first TV series since Mad Men ended in 2015. Weiner tapped several of Mad Men‘s stars to appear on The Romanoffs, including Jay R. Ferguson, Christina Hendricks, Cara Buono, and John Slattery.
Salke also confirmed that Too Old to Die Young will not return for a second season. The drama starred Miles Teller who played a police officer that got sucked into the underworld of organized crime.
Amazon Studios co-head of television Albert Cheng also announced that Patriot will end after its second season. The show created by Steven Conrad focused on intelligence officer John Tavner’s attempts to prevent Iran from receiving nuclear information while battling through PTSD. Patriot‘s two seasons earned an 81 percent critic rating and a 94 percent viewer approval from Rotten Tomatoes.
