In other news, .Paak dropped off his fourth studio album Ventura on Thursday night. The project boasts features from André 3000, Smokey Robinson, Sonyae Elise, Brandy, Lalah Hathaway, and Jazmine Sullivan. The album also contains posthumous vocals from Nate Dogg.
“I was recording music man. I was just going through just a creative spurt and I recorded this along the same time as Oxnard and we were just recording mad material,” .Paak said in an interview with Zane Lowe about the new album. “[…] When we were developing Oxnard, I started seeing Ventura kind of take place too, so simultaneously I started kind of divvying up the songs anSociald being like, ‘OK, this is going to go here. This is going to go here.’ […] When I was going into it, I felt like one was made to be gritty. One was made to be pretty.”
