Anderson .Paak hit The Tonight Show for double duty as a performer and guest Thursday.

In addition to bringing his Oxnard highlight “Trippy” (sans J. Cole) to the stage, .Paak joined one of the Jimmys on the couch for a quick discussion on his recent Grammy win and some teasing of what’s next. When he found out he had bagged a Best Rap Performance win, .Paak was actually at an urgent care center with his son.

“I was in the hospital, actually,” he said. “I was in the urgent care with my son. He woke up and he had, like, a really stuffy nose and he’s like our only boy, our oldest boy. Every little thing that happens we’re, like, straight to emergency. We just took him straight there and the doctor was like, ‘Yeah, he’s fine.'” Ultimately, they still made the ceremony, Girl Scout cookies in tow.

Later, .Paak talked about his and Dr. Dre‘s creative relationships and teased that fans may have something new from them both soon. “I made a lot of music with Dr. Dre, like, probably two albums’ worth and honestly it’s music that I really feel like getting out,” he said.

Looking ahead, he added, fans can expect “lots of soul, a bigger tour, and the best teeth in the game.”
