Andre Iguodala Thinks Steph Curry Is the ‘Second-Best Point Guard Ever’

Written by on March 3, 2019

Veteran swingman Andre Iguodala let it be known that his teammate Steph Curry is one of the greatest and should be acknowledged as such.

“I think he’s still underrated,” Iguodala told the media. “I still think he doesn’t really get the respect he deserves, and guys think that, you know, he uses a lot of screens. Guys think that you can draw mismatches with him defensively, but he’s a real problem.”

Iguodala’s comments come after the Warriors pulled off a 120-117 road win over his former team, the 76ers. Curry scored 28 points including six big points in the clutch that helped give the Warriors the victory. In addition, Curry nailed a pivotal 30-foot jumper that gave the team a 111-109 lead.

“He won’t ever get it [respect]. It is what it is sometimes. But when you sit down and have serious conversations, that’s when you know, he’s the second-best point guard ever,” Iguodala continued. For the record, he thinks Curry is only chasing Magic Johnson for the GOAT title.

At the age of 30, Curry is already a three-time NBA champion and two-time NBA MVP; his 2015-16 recognition made him the first unanimous MVP in NBA history.
