Angela Yee Addresses Charlamagne tha God’s Gucci Mane Interview

From the outside looking in, The Breakfast Club looks like an All-Star team. But even the best teams have their issues, which was evident by the way Charlamagne tha God handled Angela Yee’s beef with Gucci Mane.
Angela Yee stopped by The Quicksilva Show recently, where she addressed Charlamagne’s latest interview with Gucci Mane, despite their beef. “Would you do that?” Yee asks the show’s co-hosts at the 5:30-mark. “If it was you and Quicksilva and you guys, would you do that?… I knew he was doing the interview. I just think in general, if you work with somebody and someone is saying things nasty—things you can’t even say on the radio—in a derogatory way… I think that’s the real issue. You can’t just sit there and laugh when something like that happens.”
Gucci Mane went on the offensive against Yee and DJ Envy during his one-on-one interview with Charlamagne. During their conversation, Gucci addressed the rumors claiming that he was banned from the The Breakfast Club. “It came from that punk ass bitch,” Gucci said in reference to Yee. “And DJ Envy—he’s a pussy, too. Envy’s pussy, man.” Gucci also said he was going to slap Envy the next time they saw each other.
Gucci’s issue with Charlamagne’s co-workers stems from a “Club Court” segment that took place earlier this month. Charlamagne wasn’t there for the segment, but Yee and Envy decided to further explain a moment that took place during Gucci’s 2016 appearance on the show. In the interview, Gucci alleges that Angela Yee made sexual advances towards him in the past. Yee immediately denied Gucci’s claims. She then reiterated that she didn’t want to have sex with Gucci nor did she have his phone number during the recent “Club Court” segment.
Gucci’s accusations were the result of him misreading some playful banter that took place in 2009. Yee touched on that conversation while talking to Quicksilva. “I had a show where we talked real crazy all the time,” Yee explained 4 minutes into the clip. “But I think mature adults know you can conduct sex in conversation and that doesn’t mean someone likes you… He must have been thinking about it for 10 years. I don’t know.”
Unlike Charlamagne, DJ Envy stuck by Yee’s side. Envy responded to Gucci’s threats in an Instagram post that explains he refused the rapper’s request to do an interview without Yee. He also said that Yee has the right to defend herself on the show because they share the platform and he won’t stop her from speaking her piece. “[Gucci Mane] was never banned from The Breakfast Club. When asked, ‘Would I do an interview without Yee…’ My reply was, ‘I will not do anything unless you clear it with my co-worker.’ We call that riding for your team where I’m from!!!” Envy wrote. “When Gucci did that post about Yee, she defended herself on the Breakfast Club and he’s mad because “I let her do it”…. I Have never ran from a Conversation in my life.”
