Anthony Davis Edited Out of Pelicans Intro Video After Requesting Trade

Anthony Davis, who is currently out with a sprained left index finger, has been edited out of the New Orleans Pelicans introduction video just two days after news that he wants to be traded surfaced. The Pelicans ended up losing their home game against the Denver Nuggets. The final score was 105-99.

The New Orleans Pelicans removed Anthony Davis from the end of the intro video where it shows the entire team.

Davis was subsequently fined $50,000 by the NBA over said trade request.

Agent Rich Paul has notified the New Orleans Pelicans that All-NBA forward Anthony Davis has no intention of signing a contract extension if and when presented and that he has requested a trade, Paul told ESPN on Monday.

Davis was also reportedly edited out of the Pelicans’ Twitter banner.

Also, something to keep in mind:
If no trade materializes between now and the Feb. 7 buzzer, with the playoffs essentially out of reach, New Orleans has much more incentive to keep Anthony Davis shelved in the name of protecting its prized trade asset rather than playing him. As does Davis himself …
