Anthony Davis Wears ‘That’s All Folks!’ Shirt to New Orleans Game

Anthony Davis would never let his relationship with the Pelicans degrade to the point where he’s sniping them during the season. But before what probably will be the last game of his disappointing 7-season run with New Orleans, Davis couldn’t help but get a little bit of a dig in. Davis wore a t-shirt that bore the slogan “That’s All, Folks!” as he walked through the halls of the Smoothie King Center for the last time.

This is certainly a T-shirt choice by AD after 7 seasons with New Orleans pic.twitter.com/dG8gklAlAw

Davis hasn’t carried himself with the sort of animosity that got players like Jimmy Butler express-mailed out of their former teams. However, AD made it clear that he was done playing for the Pelicans after this season and wanted to leave the city in search of a chance at a championship (and, presumably, a massive payday).
“It’s my time. I feel like I gave this city, the organization, fans everything I felt like I could,” he said earlier this season after the news of his trade requests leaked. “Don’t know how long I’m gonna play this game. People’s careers are short. I feel like it’s my time to move on.”
While you might expect Pels fans to be hurt by Davis’ shirt, the general mood seems to be that it’s pretty funny. Given that Davis largely refrained from bashing the team he no longer wants to play for —barring a tense fan interaction here or there— it’s understandable that AD would be given a bit of leeway.
I can’t lie, Anthony Davis wearing a “That’s all Folks” shirt for tonight is kind of hilarious pic.twitter.com/4XC0UPWWnz
