Martin Scorsese‘s upcoming film Killers of the Flower Moon is linking up with Apple, according to Variety.
Although the publication reports that Apple’s deal with Paramount, the studio that was working on the film, has not been finalized, the tech company is reportedly only a few days away from getting it done. Paramount will still be the company that takes on distribution. Apple will act as creative studio for the movie as well as help with funding the film.
Speaking of fiances, it’s been previously reported that the budget for Killers of the Flower Moon has ballooned to around $200 million and Paramount was looking for partners to help shoulder the cost. An April report from Wall Street Journal indicated that discussions with Netflix, MGM, Universal Studios, and Apple were underway at the time. Scorsese’s Irishman had a similar problem with the budget reaching a very high price tag, leading Paramount to sell it to Netflix.
Killers of the Flower Moon, which will be directed by Scorsese, will star Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro and is based on David Grann’s book of the same name. Eric Roth is writing the script.
It will be the sixth movie that DiCaprio and Scorsese have worked on together. Their last film was The Wolf of Wall Street.
