Written by on September 14, 2022

Fresh off announcing the iPhone 14, Apple on Monday released its new iOS 16 software, which lets users edit and unsend text messages for the first time.

The feature enables the unsending of an iMessage for up to two minutes after it was sent, and leaves a 15-minute window to edit one. The new operating system is available on any iPhone released in the years since 2017, and both people sending iMessages need the update in order to access the new tool.

The below video demonstrates how to edit and unsend texts on iOS 16.

This month Apple announced the iPhone 14, which features several new improvements. Among them are the A15 Bionic chip, upgraded camera specs including a 12MP main camera with a faster aperture, 49-percent boost in low-light capture scenarios, a new TrueDepth camera on the front (with autofocus), and an expansion of Deep Fusion rendering by way of the new Photonic Engine feature.

The iPhone 14 will start at $799, while the 14 Plus starts at $899. The iPhone 14 Pro starts at $999 and the Pro Max starts at $1099, with pre-orders having begun for all the models.
