Apple’s New Budget-Friendly iPhone Expected to Be Unveiled This Month
Written by SOURCE on April 3, 2020
A new budget-pleasing iPhone model, sometimes referred to as the iPhone 9 or the iPhone SE 2 by storied Apple speculators, is now all but officially confirmed to be imminent as fuck.
The fine and reliable folks over at 9to5Mac have the latest rundown on the long-whispered-about entry level iPhone, which they say—citing “new information”—will simply be known as “iPhone SE while referencing the new hardware as the 2020 version.” If chip matters are of concern to you, you’ll be pleased to know that this new model is projected to utilize the same one (the A13) found in the 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Plus models.
The 2020 edition of the SE will reportedly be available in three colorways: white, black, and PRODUCT (red). Storage options are said to include 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.
The trio of price points for the new phone have not been confirmed at the time of this writing, but previous Ming-Chi Kuo reporting stated the fresh model (which is believed to boast the design of the iPhone 8) would start at $399.
And as far as how imminent all this may be, Thursday’s report included phrasing pointing to an announcement as early as this week, though Apple had yet to make any sort of public move at the time of this writing. Other predictions, meanwhile, place an announcement as happening a little later this month.
A budget-conscious iPhone would likely do quite well amid COVID-19 containment efforts, which have resulted in the temporary closure of a variety of retail shops.
