Ariana Grande Will Perform at the 2020 Grammys

Ariana Grande has apparently squashed her beef with the Grammys.
On Saturday afternoon, the singer-songwriter took to social media to announce her performance at this year’s ceremony. The Recording Academy confirmed the news in a subsequent blog post.
Grande’s performance is especially notable because of previous conflict with Grammys’ longtime executive producer Ken Ehrlich. The 26-year-old artist was billed as one of the 2019 performers, but ultimately pulled out after a disagreement involving her hit single “7 Rings.”
According to the Huffington Post, Grande wanted to perform the full track during her set, but the producers preferred it be included in a medley.
“As it turned out when we finally got the point where we thought maybe it would work, she felt it was too late for her to pull something together for sure,” Ehrlich told the Associated Press. “And it’s too bad. She’s a great artist. And I’d love to get her in the show this year.”
Grande would go to explain her side of the story via Twitter, accusing Ehrlich of lying about the situation as well as stifling her creativity and self-expression:
It’s unclear what led Grande and the Recording Academy to make peace, but fans are understandably stoked about it.
In addition to her live performance, Grande is up for five 2020 Grammy awards, including Album of the Year (Thank U, Next), Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (“Boyfriend” with Social House), and Record of the Year (“7 Rings”).
The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards will air live Jan. 26 on CBS. This year’s show will also include performances by Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Aerosmith, and Gwen Stefani.
