Baby Keem’s “Family Ties” featuring Kendrick Lamar emerged victorious in the Best Rap Performance category at Sunday night’s Grammys ceremony.
Keem accepted the award, which was presented to the Melodic Blue artist by Ludacris.
Further reflecting on the win backstage, Keem spoke on how “surreal” the moment felt for him and his family.
Originally joining Megan Thee Stallion, J. Cole with 21 Savage and Morray, Cardi B, and Baby Keem with Kendrick Lamar in this category was Drake’s Certified Lover Boy single “Way 2 Sexy.” However, the “Summer Games” singer later withdrew his nominations for the 2022 ceremony, which also included a Best Rap Album nod. Previously, Drake criticized the Grammys over its shutout of The Weeknd’s After Hours.

When addressing the Best Rap Album win on Sunday night, Tyler, the Creator—who previously won in the same category with the 2019 album IGOR—shared a special thank you to “everyone who listened, watched a video or came to a show.”
Sunday’s live experience also boasted a stacked assortment of performances, including medleys from Lil Nas X (with Jack Harlow) and Nas. The latter won Best Rap Album with his 2021 release King’s Disease, the sequel for which was nominated in the same category at this year’s ceremony.
