Benzino has a long and complicated relationship with the city of Boston. In a new VladTV interview, the rapper told Shawn Prez how The Lox revealed that the Boston Police Department encouraged them to kill him during their feud.

In the clip of the interview above, Benzino tells Perez that Jadakiss was the one who told him about the alleged exchange and that he wasn’t surprised to hear the news.

“When we went to squash it, we all met at a restaurant and that’s when Kiss told me,” Benzino told VladTV. “I wasn’t surprised that they felt that way, but I was surprised that they would tell them that based on everything that happened.”

Back in 2016, The Lox retold the story of the altercation between their crew and Benzino’s to Rapar Radar, which you can watch below. After explaining how the fighting started when someone threw a packet of ketchup at them, Styles P revealed in the end that the Boston PD said they should’ve killed Benzino in the madness.

In his interview, Benzino continued to explain how his father was involved with the mafia in Boston, so he emulated what his father would do and got involved with the street life out there as well.

“I was just dealing with a lot of different people, and the police necessarily couldn’t get anything on me,” he said, later adding, “I guess they figured after all these years they could finally get me, but that’s what it was. We was getting involved with a lot of shit,” he said. “There was bodies poppin’ up and all kinds of sh*t in Boston and they was always tryin’ to knock us for sh*t, but necessarily couldn’t.”
