Best New Albums This Month (February 2019)

It might be the shortest month of the year, but February is already a strong contender for 2019’s wildest. We got the Grammys and the Oscars, and with them endless talk of the Lady Gaga/Bradley Cooper friendship, some long-overdue recognition for Spike Lee, and the continued reigns of Cardi B, Drake, and Kacey Musgraves—yeehaw! News-wise, everyone is continuing to keep an eye on the cases of 6ix9ine, Jussie Smollett, and uh, oh yeah, the president.
From the mainstream to those flying somewhat under the radar, this month had something for everyone, including (finally!) Kehlani stans. In just four short weeks, a number of artists managed to make (or reiterate) their marks in our music libraries, and for that, we’re grateful. Punxsutawney Phil said spring will come early this year, but even if he’s wrong (a possibility, believe it or not), at least we’ve got these projects to keep us warm. These are the best albums of the month.
