It’s been a blessed week for Big Sean fans.
At midnight Friday, the Detroit rapper came through with “What a Life,” a Hit-Boy-produced track in which he reflects on his come-up as well as the ups and downs of fame: “Only get one life, swear I almost died twice,” he raps in the chorus. “I went triple platinum more than three times, what a life, man/Feel like god when they bless me with the trick dice/And I left her ass on read, even though it was enticin’.”
Sean announced the song’s release just hours before it hit streaming services, but did not say whether it was a loosie or a taste of a full-length project.
Don’s last album, Detroit 2, arrived in September 2020 and he has yet to provide any information about a possible follow-up. However, fans are speculating the rapper has something up his sleeve, as he recently stopped by Power 106’s LA Leakers show to deliver an impressive 9-minute freestyle.
