Bill Cosby Goes After ‘Fake News’ and Refers to Himself as a ‘Political Prisoner’

Written by on December 1, 2019

Bill Cosby spent his Thanksgiving in prison and concerned about the supposed “fake news” about him. In a series of holiday tweets, Cosby went on the offensive against the media.

“It’s #BlackFriday, so let’s spend our dollars with #BlackPressUSA & all Black media outlets that propel the truth and the facts, not Fake News. The truth is in the pudding, this week Black Press USA proved its power and relevance to the world,” Cosby wrote before naming specific publications in a following tweet.

“No longer should we succumb to the fear of many mainstream media outlets like Associated Press, CNN, NBC, New York Times, Washington Post & Radar Online just to name a few,” Cosby tweeted. “Black Friday+Black People = BlackPressUSA.”

These tweets were accompanied by a link to Cosby’s first interview since going to prison. The interview was of course conducted by Black Press USA. Cosby told the outlet that he has less than a year before he’s eligible for parole. The parole board is usually looking for prisoners to show remorse for their crimes, which is something Cosby refuses to do.

“I have eight years and nine months left,” Cosby said. “When I come up for parole, they’re not going to hear me say that I have remorse. I was there. I don’t care what group of people come along and talk about this when they weren’t there. They don’t know… It’s all a set up. That whole jury thing. They were imposters.”

Cosby echoed the notion that he’s being falsely imprisoned on Twitter. A day before informing people to steer clear of the mainstream press, he acknowledged the Thanksgiving holiday as well as recognizing himself as “The Educator & The Political Prisoner.”
