As Daniel Craig prepares to exit the James Bond franchise, many are wondering which actor will take over the iconic 007 role. Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender, Richard Madden, and Riz Ahmed are some of the most popular candidates among fans. But who does Billie Eilish believe should be the next Bond? Surprisingly, it’s not a U.K. actor.
“Honestly, Michael B. Jordan would kill that shit,” Eilish said on Capital Breakfast this week, when asked about Craig’s possible replacement. “I think he’d kill it.”
Craig has confirmed No Time to Die will be his last Bond film.
“Yes. It’s done,” he told Stephen Colbert last year, when asked if he was stepping away from the franchise.
Craig made his Bond debut in 2006’s Casino Royale, and would reprise his role in 2008’s Quantum of Solace, 2012’s Skyfall, and 2015’s Spectre. His Bond swan song, No Time to Die, will hit theaters on April 10. The film was directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, and co-stars Rami Malek, Léa Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, and Christoph Waltz.
Eighteen-year-old Eilish was tapped to sing the movie’s theme song, making her the youngest artist to perform and write a Bond film’s title track.
“It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honor,” she said in a statement to Variety after her involvement in the film was confirmed. “James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock.”
