Billie Eilish’s Reaction to Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig’s Oscars Bit Becomes Mood Meme
Written by SOURCE on February 10, 2020
Thank you, Billie Eilish, for giving us the first viral meme from the 2020 Academy Awards.
The Grammy-winning artist, who is set to perform at tonight’s ceremony, was caught on camera grimacing during Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph‘s Oscars bit. While presenting the award for Best Costume Design, the comedians decided to deliver a medley of fashion-related tunes.
“We can’t just skip right to the award,” Rudolph said. “Well, maybe we don’t say it—”
“Maybe we sing it,” Wiig interjected, before the two began singing hits like Sisqo’s “Thong Song,” Madonna’s “Vogue,” and Chris De Burgh’s “Lady in Red.” During the mini performance, the camera cut to Eilish sitting in the audience with a pretty relatable expression.
It’s possible that Eilish’s facial expression had nothing to do with Wiig and Rudolph’s presentation, as she could’ve been reacting to the giant side screens in the venue. If you watch the clip, you see Eilish smiling while looking at the stage, before she looks to the upper right and gives a disapproving—almost nervous—look. It’s very likely that the teenage artist was simply reacting to the fact that the cameras had cut to her.
Whatever the reason, Eilish’s reaction has inspired countless memes on Twitter. You can check some of them out below.
