‘Black Widow’ Release Date Pushed Back Over Coronavirus Concerns
Written by SOURCE on March 17, 2020
The release date for Black Widow has been delayed amid the coronavirus pandemic, Variety reports. A new date has not been set.
AMC Theaters announced Monday that all of their theaters across the country would be closed for six to 12 weeks after the CDC recently suggested limiting public gatherings to no larger than 10 people. This move was a fatal blow to Black Widow, especially after Regal Cinemas also decided to shut down all their locations until further notice.
Disney appeared to initially hold out hope that Black Widow could still be released on time when the film wasn’t grouped into the announcement that Mulan, The New Mutants, and Antlers were being moved off the release schedule.
The Scarlett Johansson-led film was scheduled to hit theaters on May 1.
