‘Bond 25’ Director Cary Fukunaga Addresses Rumor His PlayStation Has Caused Filming Delays

Written by on June 21, 2019

There are some rumors you read that immediately make you wonder how a “story” this bizarre could have even gained momentum.

On Tuesday, The Sun reported that a “mutiny has erupted on the set” of Bond 25, the next installment in the James Bond franchise, over director Cary Fukunaga’s behavior.

“There is real mutiny right now on the set. It’s bad enough that Cary was so late for filming and held everyone up, but then for the crew to be asked to work extra hours to cover it was just the final straw,” an alleged source close to production told The Sun. “They then set up a scene but the director failed to turn up for several hours because he was playing on his PlayStation.”

Yes, you read that correctly. The Sun was really alleging that Fukunaga’s video game habits have interfered with filming Bond 25, and led to instances where he shows up on the set several hours later because times flies when you play video games.

After discovering this rumor, the Maniac and True Detective director decided to tactfully respond with a Instagram post which features a member of the reportedly overworked crew, as well as an update on his Red Dead Redemption 2 progress.

Given everything that has gone wrong making Bond 25—see “Related Articles” below—a wild rumor about Cary Fukunaga having a PlayStation problem is the last thing this film needs.
