British Music Scene Mourn Death Of ‘Underrated Legend’ Cadet

This morning (Feb. 9), we all woke up to the tragic news of the passing of Cadet, aka Blaine Cameron Johnson. The 28-year-old rapper died in a taxi, on his way to a show in the early hours of this morning. News of the rising rap star’s untimely death was originally announced via a post on his Instagram by a family member, and then later confirmed by his cousin, Krept, and close friend Konan. The South London-born artist was known for his passionate freestyles, and was on his way to having a huge career.
Tweets from Cadet’s fans, his collaborators and the entire scene have been flooding in all morning, including a message from Wireless Festival announcing that they would be keeping his set as “a time to reflect on the memory of Blaine”.
