Britney Spears Teases That She’s Working on New Music

Written by on December 23, 2021

Britney SZN approaching?

Britney Spears took to Instagram Wednesday to reveal that some new music could be on the horizon. “Pssss new song in the works … I’m gonna let you know what I mean,” she wrote in the caption.

The brief revelation was accompanied by a video where she recorded herself singing in front of a mirror. “I just realized this today guys … after what my family tried to do to me three years ago,” Spears wrote. “I needed to be my own cheerleader!!!! God knows they weren’t.”

A judge in Los Angeles terminated Britney’s 13-year conservatorship after her father and co-conservator Jamie was suspended in September. It seems as though things started going in the singer’s favor following her bombshell testimony where she pleaded for her conservatorship to end, explaining that she has no control over any aspect of her personal life, including marrying her longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari.

Shortly after Jamie’s suspension, Britney appeared to call out the complicity of her family in regards to the long-standing conservatorship. “If you’re like my family who says things like ‘sorry, you’re in a conservatorship’ … probably thinking you’re different so they can fuck with you,” Spears wrote.

Spears went on to rattle off her career accomplishments, such as selling over 70 million albums, singles, and songs in the U.S. alone. She later explained that the video of her singing isn’t meant to serve as an audition, but rather, serve as a reminder to herself and everyone else of what she’s capable of. “I’m here to remind my white “classy” family that I haven’t forgotten what they did to me nor will I ever forget,” she concluded.

Spears followed that up with another post containing what could be interpreted as a cryptic message.

Stay tuned.
