‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Goes ‘Die Hard’ for New Season 6 Trailer

Brooklyn Nine-Nine starts its run on its new NBC home on Jan. 10. The beloved cop comedy finally released season 6’s first trailer, where our hero Jake Peralta becomes John McClane in a Die Hard parody.
Like McClane, Brooklyn Nine-Nine also had a near-death experience when Fox canceled the sitcom following the show’s fifth season. The decision took fans and the cast by surprise since it was Fox’s highest rating live-action comedy series last season for the 18-49 demographic. But just when things seemed grim for the 99th Precinct, NBC picked up Brooklyn Nine-Nine a day after it got the ax.
“Ever since we sold this show to Fox I’ve regretted letting it get away,” NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said of the show. “And it’s high time it came back to its rightful home.”
January will be a big month for Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s star Andy Samberg. Four days before the season premiere, he’ll co-host the Golden Globes alongside Sandra Oh. Brooklyn Nine-Nine took two prizes in 2014 for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy and Samberg’s Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
