Bruce Willis Signs on for Three-Film Deal With MoviePass’ Film Studio

Written by on December 19, 2018

Bruce Willis has signed on to make three more films with MoviePass‘ movie-making arm, MoviePass Films. According to Deadline, the deal was finagled through Willis’ prior relationship to the CEOs of the production house.

MoviePass Films began its life as Emmett/Furla Films back in 1998, named after its founders Randall Emmett and George Furla. The company has made quite a few films with Willis, including 16 Blocks and Lay the Favorite. MoviePass acquired an ownership stake in the company back in the happier era of the company, better known as “earlier this year.”

“We consider Bruce a part of the MoviePass family at this point. Bruce is not only one of the biggest worldwide movie stars but is also a force to be reckoned with, and we look forward to the future with him,” Emmett said of the deal.

Willis was equally happy to keep their relationship going.

“After 15 years, I look forward to continuing to work with Randall and George in the coming year,” he said.

The first film in the deal, Trauma Center, is scheduled to begin shooting in February.

MoviePass Films parent company has spent the back half of 2018 dealing with wave after wave of bad press. The company is currently under investigation for allegedly misleading investors and they won back no goodwill when they unveiled a new, more expensive and infinitely more complicated pricing plan to replace the one that left them hemorrhaging money.  This comes after they welched on their initial promise of 1 movie per day.
