The feud between Drake and Pusha-T was recently reignited, with both parties sharing new details about what escalated the situation. A major plot point brought up was from Drake, who said Pusha rapping about his close friend and producer Noah “40” Shebib’s multiple sclerosis crossed the line.
“Wishing death on my friend that has MS… I study rap battles for a living,” Drake told LeBron James during an episode of The Shop. “When you mention defenseless people who are sick in the hospital, that passed away, that really sent me to a place where I just believed then, and believe now, that there’s just a price that you have to pay for that… Someone’s gonna fucking punch you in the fucking face.”
On the latest episode of Mostly Football, Bun B shared his thoughts on the idea that there are rules for rap beefs.
“There’s rules to rap battles, but there are no rules to rap beefs,” Bun explained. “‘Cause rap beefs don’t necessarily start in a rap scenario and don’t necessarily end in a rap scenario. So it could go any way anybody could want it to go. If somebody says something about my beautiful wife, I’m not making a record, I’m looking for you, you know what I’m saying? I’m probably gonna try to put hands on you in some certain situations.”

“It just depends on when you jump out there if you’re ready for the ramifications, ’cause everybody’s not gonna just rap back,” he added. “Everybody’s not gonna rap fair. Some people are gonna take the lowest shots they can take, and you gotta be prepared for all that.”
Bun’s views on the situation mirror that of veteran Yonkers rapper Styles P, who told the Ebro in the Morning crew a rapper is better off avoiding a rap beef if they’re not willing to deal with the consequences.
“You can’t expect in any type of warfare, any type, not just rap, ain’t no rules,” Styles said. “You gotta go into it knowing anything could happen. That’s why your best bet is to not engage. Stay away from beef at all costs.”
