On Sunday, Kyrie Irving was clearly not thrilled with a camera greeting him at TD Garden. He didn’t go full Sean Penn and knock the guy holding it out, or anything, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to gauge how he felt. First, he (understandably) said: “I’m not going to miss any of this s**t when I’m done playing.” And then, when told the camera’s on, he said: “I don’t care if it is.”

Again this isn’t on Sean Penn Alec Baldwin’s level. But, in 2019, such is life as the face of an NBA team, especially in a bonkers market like Boston. Here check it out:

Now, as noted by the Twitter user who captured the clip, it’s not some obvious indication that he’s leaving Boston immediately after the season ends (which, right now, is looking like Game 5 of the first round). But it does serve as the latest example of Irving being ever-so-gently pushed to madness by coverage that isn’t quite LeBronian, but is still annoying AF.

A little over a week ago Kyrie Irving gave a frustrated answer when asked about rampant speculation that he was trying to get Kevin Durant to join him on the Knicks because they had a conversation in plain sight.

“I don’t have a private life when I’m out there in the NBA,” he said at the time. “I’m a human being talking to another best friend of mine. It’s just crazy. This is the stuff that just doesn’t make the league fun. Nobody helps promote the league even more by doing bullshit like that.”

He expanded upon that thought, with a similar theme, when pressed on it during the same media session. “It’s my life, right? It’s two people talking, having a conversation,” he said. “If this was the real world, would it be anybody’s business? But it’s a video of somebody assuming what we’re talking about, making an opinion about it. Why would I care about it? Why does that have an impact on my life?”

During the game he was arriving to on Sunday, the Celtics lost to Houston, 115-104. Afterward, Irving kept it succinct:

Sometimes you get where Marshawn Lynch was coming from.
