Cam’ron Is Back With ‘Purple Haze 2′ f/ Jim Jones, Wale, Max B, and More

Written by on December 20, 2019

The wait is over. Cam’ron has finally released the much-anticipated sequel to his 2004 album, Purple Haze.

Cam has been teasing Purple Haze 2 for the past five years, previously claiming it would serve as his last album. However, the Harlem rapper says he simply can’t stay away from the studio, no matter how hard he tries.

“A lot of times, I tell myself I’m not going to fuck with music no more, but then I end up fucking with music, even if it doesn’t come out,” he recently told Complex. “It’s the 15-year anniversary of Purple Haze this year. So I was like, damn, I have so many dope songs, and I’m still working—why not do a Part 2 around the anniversary of Part 1? People are always asking me for music, so I thought it was time to put some music back out.”

It’s unclear if Purple Haze 2 will actually be the rapper’s last album. But one thing we know is that Cam isn’t stepping away from the game any time soon. Not only is he planning to drop a sequel to 2017’s The Program mixtape next year, he’s also on a North American tour in support of Purple Haze 2. The trek kicks off this Friday in Brooklyn, with stops in Nashville, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, and more.

Purple Haze 2 delivers 16 tracks, including singles like “I Don’t Know” featuring Wale, “This Is My City” with Max B, and “Believe in Flee.”

Stream Purple Haze 2 now on Apple Music and Spotify.
