Cardi B Calls Out Lawyer on Instagram Over Sexist Remarks

Written by on July 15, 2019

Cardi B has been trying to stay quiet when it came to matters involving her case in connection to an alleged incident that took place at Angels Strip Club in Queens, New York last August. That all changed when she recently came across an article in the New York Post titled “Cardi B isn’t the only star guilty of red-carpet courtroom style.”

The piece featured quotes from Joseph Tacopina, the lawyer who is representing the alleged victims in Cardi B’s case, critiquing the rapper’s high-fashion choices during her appearances in Queens Supreme Court.

“Cardi treats her trips to the courthouse like a runway show,” Tacopina told the New York Post. In a series of videos posted on her Instagram which have since been deleted, Cardi called out Tacopina for being overly concerned about how she dressed, and what labels were on her body, instead of the case at hand.

“I don’t dress inappropriate when I go to court. I dress like a young fucking lady,” Cardi said. “Where am I supposed to get my suits from H&M?” Cardi explains how there was one instance where she had to go to court so early in the morning that she didn’t put on any makeup other than her ChapStick.

Cardi questions how Tacopina could also represent Meek Mill, who is currently fighting for criminal justice reform, and then try to tear her down over her appearance.

Check out the deleted videos below.

Cardi is facing two felony assault charges, and a slew of lesser charges.
