Cardi B on Daughter Kulture: ‘I’m Really Good at Being a Mom’
Written by SOURCE on April 14, 2019
Cardi B is a true entrepreneur, having found success in everything from music and fashion to reality TV and soon, feature films. But what has been the rapper’s favorite and, perhaps, most fulfilling job? Being a mother.
Cardi spoke about her life as a parent during a red carpet interview at the 2019 Swisher Sweets Awards in West Hollywood. The 26-year-old artist, who was presented with this year’s Spark Award, spoke about the challenges that come with being a working mom. Cardi told E! News that parenting turned out to be much harder than she anticipated. However, it’s also been a lot of fun.
“When I was pregnant, I always used to say, ‘Oh, I’m just gonna have my baby with me all day, and I’m going to get a nanny.’ And then, you know, once your baby gets here, you’re scared to get a nanny because you don’t want anybody around them,” she said. “You cannot just travel with your baby all the time, like they get sick …”
Cardi was then asked how her 9-month old daughter, Kulture, has been doing.
“She is so fun, she is cool, like, I love her,” the rapper said about her only child, whom she shares with Offset. “She just makes the gloomiest days like sunshine. I love it. It’s is slice of heaven—a sanctuary, my baby. I love her.”
The Invasion of Privacy rapper will soon celebrate her first Mother’s Day as a mom. Of course, she’s anticipating good gifts.
“I am getting gifts. Hopefully, I get a cute gift for Mother’s Day,” she said. “I’m a good mom. I’m good at a lot of things. The best job is a mom. I’m really good at being a mom.”

Shortly after the awards ceremony, Cardi made a surprise appearance at day 1 of Coachella 2019. She took the stage during DJ Snake’s set, performing “Taki Taki” alongside Selena Gomez and Ozuna.
