Fresh off word that Netflix is indeed delivering a Tiger King sequel to hungry fans, Discovery+ has announced a new documentary series that will focus on Carole Baskin’s investigation into the treatment of animals at the zoo formerly owned by Joe Exotic.

The series, as first revealed by the Hollywood Reporter, is titled Carole Baskin’s Cage Fight and will see Baskin and her husband—as well as a retired homicide detective—looking into the property that was awarded to Baskin by a judge in 2020.

In a press release shared Thursday, Baskin hinted at what viewers can expect with this new series, which debuts Nov. 13 and is set to feature input from Exotic’s niece.

“This is a unique opportunity for audiences to come ‘behind the scenes’ with us for an unfiltered look at how we expose the cub-petting exploiters and roadside zoos we feel are mistreating animals,” Baskin said. “This is our real-life work within a dangerous world, and viewers will see it comes with our people being threatened, guns pointed at us, and the bad guys shooting at our drones.”

Also this week, Baskin shared her assessment of Kate McKinnon’s portrayal of her in an upcoming Peacock series. Per TMZ, Baskin was “stunned” when she saw set photos of McKinnon in character. McKinnon, Baskin is said to have theorized, “must be channeling her inner cat lady” to have so perfectly locked down her signature apparel choices.

Exotic, meanwhile, is still behind bars after being convicted in connection with an attempted murder-for-hire plot against Baskin, as well as animal-related charges. Unfortunately, a previously announced series starring Nicolas Cage as the Kansas-born reality TV personality was confirmed over the summer to no longer be moving forward.
